National Roller Coaster Museum & Archives to Expand in 2019

The 10,000-Square-Foot Exhibition Space to Honor Mark Moore, Industry Pioneer

PLAINVIEW, TX (October 18, 2018) – Thanks to the incredible generosity of the entire amusement industry, the National Roller Coaster Museum (NRCMA) is expanding its Plainview, Texas archive facility to include a nearly 10,000-square-foot exhibition space to be named after founding board member and Uremet Corporation Founder Mark Moore.

The Moore wing will display a portion of the Museum’s vast collection of artifacts, designs, photographs and ride vehicles for public viewing and for research purposes.  Its nearly three-story vaulted ceiling will allow the largest of the artifacts to be displayed, as well as, providing a second floor mezzanine for additional exhibits.   The new building will be attached to the existing 10,000-square-foot archive space with a new entrance building featuring a board room and theater. 

Building construction will begin in spring 2019.  The buildings, interior design and exhibition space completion are estimated to be complete by the summer of 2021.  Fundraising for the expansion is continuing.  Donations can be made online at rollercoastermuseum.org or by mailing the NRCMA at PO Box 5424, Arlington Texas 76005.

A 1:48 scale model of the expansion and the donated artifacts will be on display during the 2018 IAAPA Attractions Expo at the NRCMA booth #4314, November 12 – 16.

The NRCMA continues to expand its collection of artifacts and archiving facilities in Plainview, Texas but the museum needs support from the industry and from fans of them and amusement parks everywhere if these efforts are to continue.
