Texas Cyclone Move Captures Houston's Attention

Texas Cyclone Finds New Home in the National Roller Coaster Museum and Archives

After fifteen years in storage, fans of the defunct Houston theme park, Six Flags Astroworld, will be able to take a walk down memory lane when the famed Texas Cyclone is put up for display in the National Roller Coaster Museum. Houston news media was abuzz as local Houstonians shared in the excitement of seeing the nostalgic coaster once again.

Shortly after Six Flags Astroworld closed in 2005, the legendary wooden Texas Cyclone rollercoaster was left in a temporary storage facility in Plainview, Texas. Now, with the help of Larson International, a company that designs and manufactures rollercoasters, a portion of the famed coaster's remains has been moved to its new home at the National Roller Coaster Museum.

Once the exhibit opens to the public, this track from the Texas Cyclone will be one of the top two largest pieces on display in the museum.
